Elemis, a leading luxury British spa and skincare brand has asked us to create a suite of brochures to market their influential anti-ageing products and professional spa-therapies.

We cant show you anything at the moment, its all under wraps… But we’ll show it off as soon as we’re allowed!

We are delighted to have won a five-way pitch to rebrand L&Q (formerly known as London & Quadrant), a leading housing association based in London. L&Q is undergoing its first major rebrand in 40 years and the visual overhaul, which involves a progressive new identity and communications style is a really bold departure from their previous look.

The new branding is expected to work across everything from websites to buildings to vans later this year. Watch this space…

We have just been appointed to design and build a portfolio of websites for Warner Estate.  Each website will have a different look, but use the same back end, which will allow the client to update content as regularly as they wish. Works are already underway so we’ll keep you posted.

There’s a lot of moving image work around at the moment returning to its lo fi routes. Whether it’s a case of boredom with software and computers, a desire to do things organically or simply a pilgrimage to the beginning of the medium, lots of work is being created around the world, both commercially and non commercially in this way.

Take this new Nokia ad for example. Classic stop motion animation involving some serious planning and lots of patience. I’m really surprised at some of the things creatives are managing to squeeze past their clients, and for the purpose of keeping things simple I’m not even gonna start on the stuff that is done with computers (ok just one example). One step up from the traditional stop motion is this ad for a bank (ruined at the end by the Bank’s logo!) that uses a hint of 3d, and maths (yes, Maths!) to work out velocity scales so that acceleration was possible. Well done to the clever clogs at weareom.

Stop motion isn’t the only way to be Lo Fi of course. “Time Well Wasted”, a new snowboarding vid takes an even more straight forward approach. Do-able with a shoestring budget (the film is released free of charge) the intro says everything it needs too, but it doesn’t look cheap. It seems totally original to me but I’m sure it isn’t!

The list is pretty much endless, but a real high point to my…point…is this totally killer animation from Brazil. The sheer time and effort that has gone into it is incredible, and the idea is also brilliant. It’s a great example of utilising two very different mediums to create a complimentary piece. I love how one relies upon the other to work.
