We are delighted that the entry we submitted on behalf of L&Q for the Employee Engagement category of the 2010 Marketing Society Awards for Excellence has been short listed as one of the finalists.

In 2009 we created and implemented a 6 month engagement campaign to ensure that all 1,200 L&Q staff members understood the rationale for a re-brand, the new brand values and the organisation’s 5 year plan  before we launched their new brand. The campaign produced some great results and you can read more about the details of the campaign here.

We’re up against Pizza Express, Natural England and Business Stream and the decision will be announced at The Park Lane Hilton on 7th June. We’ll be sure to let you know who the winner is. Fingers crossed!

Earth Hour is a bright idea that will see London in darkness come 8.30pm on Saturday 27th March. The organisers, WWF want over a billion people to switch off their lights to support the fight against global warming.

London is making a huge gesture to be a part of earth hour by dimming the lights on iconic landmarks such as Piccadilly Circus, Canary Wharf, the Royal Albert Hall, the London Eye and the Gherkin.

So make sure you eat plenty of carrots at dinner time and to find out how you can join in click here.

Remember that unforgettable concert or the day your team won the cup final? These are the kind of memories that we keep for the whole of our lives so we think it is about time they got a little appreciation?

Foreign language skills are one key to success in a modern globalised world. Knowledge of German opens doors to business, academia and a rich and colourful cultural heritage – art, literature, music, creative industries, design, fashion, architecture and much more. To help promote the spectrum of opportunities offered by German language learning in the UK, underscore were appointed after a creative pitch to deliver the concepts for the Think German campaign in 2010 – high-profile events to promote German as a foreign language.

Our theme of “think German – you already speak it” hints that German is in many ways a part of the English language already. We all know a wunderkind, somewhere out there is our doppelgänger and let’s face it we all love a bit of kitsch. This theme has been rolled into a visually attractive and humorous creative execution to ensure it is memorable, engaging and drives traffic to the website: www.thinkgerman.org.uk.

So there are lots of other reasons to have German on the mind, not just indie music or football, but don’t just take our word for it – visit www.thinkgerman.org.uk or have a look out for our Think German adverts across London in the months to come. Wunderbar.

Underscore’s digital team are delighted to announce the release of a new system for retail websites that look individual and build great customer loyalty.

Our Shopping Centre System (SCS) allows promotions, events, shop listings, job vacancies and opening times to be edited in-house and can partner with email and social media to create interest and drive sales.

Sound interesting? We have just released a new site for The Rushes Loughborough and five new sites for Warner Estate including Market Place Bolton

If you like what you see here please email Emmanuelle to discuss your requirements.

“What’s all this all about then” I hear you all cry. Well to be completely honest I don’t really know. All I do know is that if you fill in your email address in the field on the site, you will then then recieve an email asking for you to fill out 5 very simple questions from an annonymous sender who calls himself ‘The Baron’. If you are deemed to answer these questions correctly (there is no right or wrong answer, it’s all down to whether or not the organisers feel as though you’re worthy of such an exciting, exclusive and secretive event) you will receive a ticket and a plus one to the ‘event’ that’ll take place somewhere in London town. Quite what or when for that matter this event will take place is unknown to all until you find that fateful email in your inbox. So if you fancy a bit of mystery in your uneventful London lives go here, as it might change your life, or on the other hand it could just be a load of old hot air.

Underscore’s latest Millennium Stadium creative for the ILMC conference has gone down a storm!

The theme for the 22nd ILMC conference was ‘the golden age of the great ocean liners’ so to promote the Millennium Stadium within this context we adopted the design of the era and added a relevant headline of ‘settling all your venue worries’.

We produced mint packs in the guise of seasick tablets for the delegate goody bags and referenced the big names that have played at the venue.

We’re currently working on some new ads for various stadia magazines to further promote the Millennium Stadium as ‘the’ venue for music and sporting events. We’ll be back soon to show you!

The current economic climate has made it difficult to get on the property ladder, resulting in many people having to return home to live with their folks whilst they save for a deposit…leading to overflowing laundry baskets for poor old Mum’s everywhere.

L&Q offer an affordable route to owning a property through their part buy, part rent schemes. We created an engaging marketing campaign that targets people still living at home by positioning ‘moving into a place of your own’ as the ideal Mother’s Day present.

Enquiries are already coming in to the L&Q sales team from first time buyers looking for ‘Mum free living!’ Online advertising and press ads are directing people to register with L&Q.

So if you want to give your Mum the best Mother’s Day present on March 14th, register here for more details on L&Q’s affordable living developments.
