American chocolate giant Blommer Chocolate Company and underscore commodities client Olam International have got together to form GrowCocoa, a joint venture to develop a healthy and equitable cocoa value chain for generations to come.

With the experience, backup and resources from two huge corporates and the energy from a very motivated founder, this looks an interesting project that is set for success.

Our first trans-Atlantic conversations with Kevin Wilkins of Grow Cocoa helped to define their brand foundations so that they could build the brand, and his early feedback that “your ability to drive a conversation and the creative process amazes me” was very gratefully received!

After working to define the mission statement, vision and other crucial copywriting, we moved on to the visual part. We chose natural colours to support the Blommer red and Olam green, bold typefaces to carry their key messages with anda series of flexible icons to illustrate all the areas that this sustainable program requires.

Two months later, they have a suite of new brand assets ready to be launched into new communication channels and we have a happy client: “The team at Underscore have done a fantastic job. They are a delight to work with.”
