Illuminating a new brand through design
Studio N is an architectural lighting design and supply consultancy that delivers creative, simple lighting solutions to the interior, architecture and landscape sectors – from bars, restaurants and hotels to private residences, offices and retail stores.
About the brand exploration
A new business venture from one of our existing clients, we were asked to weave a new visual identity around their provided name of Studio N. The brief was to create something that felt fresh and new, totally unrelated to their established lighting business, but that fused a feeling of simplicity with great looking design.

We created a logo marque that is simple and clean, using a rounded and friendly typeface that feels both modern and timeless. We drew inspiration from simplistic scientific diagrams of light and circuits, adding a circled colour pop ‘N’ to bring energy and ownability to the marque. Along with our berry pop, we also created a complimentary gradient to add dynamism and the impression of radiating light to the designs.

We devised a story of ‘simply light’, encapsulating the essence of the brand and offer, and acting as a tone of voice theme throughout written communications. This design style and story was then rolled out across a number of touchpoints, including a clean and slick website, an editorial newspaper style brochure, business cards, brand guidelines and a teaser campaign across social media.
