Google has made a big update to its search results with the introduction of Google Instant. Now when you start typing search results start to appear instantly in real time. The upside, well search results now appear incredibly quickly as its predicting your search and showing results before you finish typing.
Google claims that its predictions are better even when you’re not sure what you are looking for. I did a quick straw poll here at underscore towers and reactions were mixed. Some of us think that it forces you to make a decision to quickly and can be a bit disorientating from a usability point of view. I personally like it, anything to make if faster is all right by me.
Google Instant is available now in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia. You will need to have Chrome v5 or 6, Firefox v3, Safari v5 for Mac and Internet Explorer v8 for pc users. You can read the full feature list at google.
